These six new pieces "For the Homies" stem from a piece I painted in 1998 titled "For Jamil" in memory of my friend Jamil Kahn who passed that winter. That work went on to become Terje's Burton Balance line for 2000 which became one of the most iconic and collected snowboard graphics to date. In 2021 I was commissioned to paint this group of smaller pieces with new color stories for a group of life long friends. Making them available for all feels like the right thing due to the connection so many people feel with these.
This might seem a little creepy but I've always looked at these as a sort of totem or portal through the eyes so that friends on the other side of the veil could still have a window into our lives.
